MARZIPAN MARZIPAN INTERVIEW
In November of last year - at the 5th SOPA Night - the Aarhus-based cultural calendar called Cast Guide asked SOPA to do an interview with Marzipan Marzipan for their next calendar. Sadly there was not sufficient public funding for the guide to continue, but we nevertheless made the interview.

DJ'ING IN COPENHAGEN WITH PRINZENALLEE
This Sunday February 21st Capt. Daydream will do a dj set aboard the German "Motorschiff" Stubnitz presently docked in the Copenhagen harbour (next to the library - "The Black Diamond"). This he will do supporting American-German duo Prinzenallee. At the mic is rapper Bleubird who you might now from a previous SOPA compilation - if not for his great albums. The debut album of the duo - called "Don't Let Nerds Take Over Your Life" - is out now on Bleubird's Canadian label Endemik Music ( http://www.endemikmusic.com ) and you can listen to the 'album preview' at http://www.myspace.com/prinzenallee. Also performing that night is Th'Mole from the USA. More info at http://www.stubnitz.com or on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=296025694204 (please help spread the word, if you want).

PICTURES: I LIKE THIS WIND IN TENERIFE
I Like This Wind played a gig last month on the island of Tenerife - where she lives - and a string of really nice pictures were shot that night. Check them out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/encarneviva/4261353315/in/photostream/

SOMEONE LOVES AGATA & ME
Back in December of last year Future Music Magazine reviewed a track of Agata & Me's which is featured on their MySpace. It's called "Everchanging" and oh, what a review! The first part refers to a picture from a few years ago, but here we go:
"Are those fret board finger drags for real? They're louder than the notes you're picking! We like that they're there, sure - but that loud? The vocal and piano however are faultless. The subtle dome-like reverb that creeps in, the harmonies, track-doubling and tense, fragile atmosphere all combine to create a recording where you fear the intrusive clanging clatter of a pin drop. A beautiful tune and expertly crafted, recording that sound gorgeously alive and organic. Proof that sometimes real musical magic is simply a matter of putting a mic in front of something. Beautiful."

NILS GRÖNDAHL & FRIENDS DAZZLE REVIEWERS ONCE AGAIN
Nils Gröndahl - the artist behind the very first SOPA cd - released the new album - "Alt er tabt" - with his band Under Byen on February 8th, 2010. It's already gotten its fair share of five star rave reviews in the Danish media. The album will be released in the USA and Canada in April by Paper Bag Records. You can check out the title track off the album in this video: http://stereogum.com/archives/video/under_byen__alt_er_tabt_video_stereogum_premiere_113571.html

And before we end this e-mail let me direct your attention to the latest SOPA compilation cd which contains 8 exclusive tracks by Marzipan Marzipan, Agata & Me, A.K. Hansn and Sister Chain & Brother John. Read more at: http://www.sopa.dk/releases/009.htm. It's extremely delicious!

See you out there - and if you find springtime anywhere pass it around to the rest of us!
